Overview
This webinar introduces the fundamentals of monoclonal antibody (mAb) Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs) and the LC workflows commonly used to assess them. We’ll begin with an overview of mAb heterogeneity and the major CQA categories, including size, charge, hydrophobic and structural variants, plus common post-translational modifications.

The session will then connect these CQAs to the chromatographic techniques most commonly used for characterization, including size exclusion chromatography (SEC), ion exchange chromatography (IEX), and reversed-phase LC (RPLC). Attendees will gain a practical understanding of what each technique measures, how the methods complement one another, and why they are important in biopharmaceutical analysis.
Key Learning Points
  • Describe monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), including their basic structure, production, and role as therapeutic medicines.
  • Define Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs) and their relationship to product quality, safety, and performance.
  • Introduce key LC techniques used in mAb characterization, including SEC, IEX, and RP-LC.
  • Explain what each technique measures, how they complement each other in mAb workflows, and how to select appropriate methods for different CQAs.
Who Should Attend
  • Any chromatography users working with or interested in monoclonal antibody (mAb) analysis and characterization by LC.
