BREAKFAST SEMINAR
Achieving Longer LC‑MS/MS Uptime with Advanced Column Design
Tuesday, June 2nd    |   7:00 AM - 8:15 AM
San Diego Convention Center   |   Room 33C
Overview
HPLC column durability is essential for laboratories running high-throughput, multi-analyte LC-MS/MS workflows. In this seminar, Endrix Kinetex columns, designed with innovative hardware to extend column lifetime, are compared to standard Kinetex columns. A comprehensive 75 analyte urine toxicology panel was used to demonstrate how advanced hardware design improves longevity, robustness, and increases uptime.
What You’ll Learn
  • Recognize the impact of hardware design on HPLC column lifetime, backpressure and performance.
  • Compare the lifetime of Endrix Kinetex vs. standard Kinetex columns.
  • Discover insights for improving LC-MS/MS uptime and reducing column replacement.
Frances Morris is the Lead Product Development Scientist at Molecular Testing Labs, specializing in LC-MS/MS assay development and analytical method validation for clinical and translational applications. Her research focuses on developing robust mass spectrometry–based methods to enable accurate biomarker quantification and support innovative diagnostic testing. Frances developed her interest in analytical chemistry during her undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities, where she received the American Chemical Society (ACS) Division of Analytical Chemistry Undergraduate Award. She later earned her M.S. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Utah under the mentorship of Prof. Joel Harris, where her graduate research focused on a single-molecule kinetics study of DNA-aptamer binding utilizing total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) microscopy. She began her career at a bioanalytical CRO in Salt Lake City and now has over eight years of experience in LC-MS/MS method development, validation, and implementation in regulated laboratory environments.
