Fast and Robust Analysis of Anionic and Cationic Pesticides on a Single Column
Zara Jalali
Applications Scientist, Phenomenex
Polar pesticides are a few of the most challenging compounds to be analyzed by analytical methods. Their extensive use in agriculture has raised safety concerns around the world and the routine analysis of these compounds has become a requirement for many food laboratories. A growing list of analytes, complex matrices, proper retention and separation of these compounds, and reproducibility are just a few of the challenges testing labs have to deal with.
Zara did her MSc. in chemical engineering/separation sciences during which she organized many research conferences, and she is passionate about science and technology. She has been working in the field of analytical chemistry for over 15 years, as a toxicologist, forensic scientist, application scientist and lab director. She has extensive experience in the
clinical, environmental, forensic toxicology and cannabis industries and her content portfolio includes R& D, Analytical method development & optimization, sample preparation techniques, data analysis, validation, designing laboratory workflow and automation using chromatography, spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry techniques.
Zara is an expert using variety of analytical instruments such as GC, GC/MS, GC/MS/MS, HPLC, HPLC/MS/MS and ICP/MS. Zara joined Phenomenex in 2020, as an application scientist mainly focusing on environmental, food and cannabis applications. She has been helping the costumers and the team with finding new solutions for applied market while trying to improve analytical solutions for this dynamic market.
